Computer as a Tutor

Like in the video shown, you are thought on how to copy and paste a new image in the photoshop.
There are a lot things you can research in the computer. Where you can find things that can answer your questions and can thought you things that you wanted to know. Simply, it explains that by the access of the internet, you can now use the computer as tutor. But we should always remember that computers don't totally replaces the teacher. Teachers are the one plays a major role in delivering information to students. In the future, maybe computers will become an integral part or component o the future classroom and not just a machine that can deliver routine drills and exercises.

Computers as Information and Communication Technology

Computers have already changed the way we work, be it any profession. Therefore, it is only natural that the role of computers in education has been given a lot of importance in recent years. Computers play a vital role in every field and by the use of instructional materials it can enhance and enrich the teaching-learning process.

There are many programs that are normally installed in an ordinary modern PC. Such as Microsoft Office, Power-point, excel, Internet explorer, Yahoo or Google, Adobe Reader, MSN, Windows Media Player, Cyberlink Power and Game House. These programs are helpful in both students and the teachers.  Students find it easier to refer to the Internet than searching for information in books.

IT For Higher Skills and Creativity

THE UPGRADED PROJECT METHOD

According to Paz I. Lucido, Ph.D., upgraded project method consists in having the students work on projects with depth, complexity, duration and relevance to the real world. This makes the students work and make decisions about what to put into the project, on how to organize the information, how to package the outcomes for presentation, and the like.

Through this method, some students would think negatively about it. Some students would think that the teacher is not a good teacher, for she/he will just let the students do all the work and will not give them the exact ideas on how to make the project.

LESSON#6 IT Enters a New Learning Environment

Read the following scenario:
Marjun is a 3 year old boy is fascinated by the color red fire in the candle. They don't have electricity that time that's why they are using candles to have light in the night. Her mother told him not to touch the fire coming from the candle. But instead of following what his mother told him, he finally touch the fire. His efforts earn him a burned finger and some valuable knowledge. "Never touch the fire."
This scenario just  shows us an example of Discovery Learning. Where the child was told by his mother only "Never touch the fire" but still he didn't listen and get his finger burnt. Because of his actions, Marjun now know that touching the fire can burn his skin and would hurt him.
If the mother told her child not to touch the fire because it will hurt him maybe Marjun would actually won't touch the fire. This would show of Reception Learning. Marjun is just a 3 years old child and don't have any knowledge yet about the effect of heat in our body. The mother would be the one who will guide her child with proper and pure verbal instruction so that her child would understand further the reason why we should not touch the fire.

Therefore:
Discovery learning is usually not taught by the teachers but are learned through everyday experiences while reception learning requires guidance with pure instruction in order for the learner to learn more about a certain matter.

Lesson #5 Stae-of-The Art ET Application Practices

There's a lot of audiovisual aids available for teaching-learning process. Many schools acquire software materials for the teachers that's why our educators today becomes more aware and active in using technology into teaching. But as the world becomes modern, the software materials we are using in the past years are not compatible anymore in our present years. Example of these are the  VHS players which is very impossible for us to find nowadays because mostly people are now using CD and DVD players. Because of this changes school administrators should be wise in investing technology.
Students are more involve to technology, like computers. That's why schools and the teachers can no longer avoid the integration of ET in instructions. They should be more open for more drastic educational changes in the years ahead.

Basic Concepts on Integrating Technology in Instruction

Question: Is there an integrative process if a teacher assigned the students to play computer games for their assignment in science?
Answer: There is NO INTEGRATIVE PROCESS.

It is important that the teacher will use technology in teaching.  In using technology you should be able to apply and integrate it to your teaching-learning process. The teacher should plan his instructions if it would fit into the lesson he will discuss. He should use technology in a way that it will provide good quality instruction to your students.

The main objective of Educational Technology 2 is integrating the technology to teaching and learning. In integrating technology to teaching and learning, it will help the students and the teachers in enhancing their teaching and learning ability. It may also be a refreshing and exciting study given the idea that all learning should be fun. Maybe some people are skeptic to the changes because they are used to the traditional way of teaching. Maybe they don't have the spirit to adopt the new changes in their surrounding. Because some people find it hard to learn and appreciate the use of technology in teaching.

Lesson # 1 A Review of Educational Technology 1

The main objective of educational technology 1 is to orient the learners in a way that they will appreciate and equipped to use educational technology tools in their convenience.
Education is one way of giving and sharing knowledge ..It makes people formally informed..

There are Three Evolution's of Education that help people in sharing information to the next generation:

1. PRINTING PRESS
           - where formal information are produced
              example: BOOKS
2. LIBRARY
-where the formal information are being kept
3. COMPUTER
          - where the access of the information are quick because almost all of the information are being stored
